Research experienceMy research during my MSc and PhD were focused on the human cognition which underpins spatial awareness and navigation. Along the way, I developed an assessment of navigation ability, investigated brain activity associated with advanced navigation strategies, and used computer models to predict human navigation behavior. The way that humans can internally represent external space is endlessly fascinating :) You can read more about my research in this PDF. |
The science of learningAs a life-long student and neuroscience super fan, I've been learning about learning for many years now. Such ephemeral concepts as intelligence and consciousness are still so hard to nail down, but what is obvious is that excitement about and enjoyment of the learning process is absolutely key. That part, at least, is pretty simple. No matter what one does, being able to motivate and inpire your audience is essential. |

Technical skill-setIn this computer-centric society having the ability to read and write code is virtually ;) magic. I have programmed for diverse projects such as vitual reality, web development, neurological modeling, cognitive modeling, statistical analysis, and much more. Often I'm employed to do so, but I also make time for programming because there's just so many cool things one can do! |
